  1. Joseph Campbell’s “Follow your bliss” are words I try to live by. Never give up your dreams, Melissa, even to “well-meaning” family members.

    1. You’re right, Angela, we should never ever give up our dreams. Thank you!

  2. And, I love this painting. Your colors are always so gorgeous.

  3. Real jobs and real money buy real food and real shelter. That’s true. But what are we without our dreams? What does life feel like without our dreams?

I’m all for being realistic, but you should believe in yourself and believe you can earn a real living through your dream job! It may take longer for that paycheck to come in than the regular bi-weekly deal, but that’s just how it works.

People are generally well meaning, but just because they don’t have their own dream or never were determined enough (brave, patient, believing enough?) to go after one doesn’t mean they have the authority to squash yours.

    1. Wow! This is a powerful affirmation! I have the best e-friends!! Thank you all so much for your encouragement. Together, we are a courageous bunch and I am truly grateful for you.

      1. The thing is, Melissa, is that you are so very fortunate to even have a dream! So many people out there don’t have that. I don’t really have that. I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. My dad still says that to this day, that he doesn’t know – and he’s in his 60’s. Both of us would LOVE to have a passion in life.

Having a dream, a passion for something, and a talent to pursue it are amazing things! You can’t let yourself doubt that because of someone else’s opinions.
